Friday 24th Sept
Arrived at Jodhpur railway station at 7am after an eleven hour train ride from Agra. We had booked the sleeper carriage and the three of us had a little compartment to our selves with 4 drop down bunk beds. Speaking to other guys who had taken a sleeper train, he had not done so bad, as they had had to share there compartments with the locals who would manage to squeeze three people on each bunk. We settled in for the night with a bag of curry potato pasties and a large bottle of moonshine - 300 rupees for a bottle of whisky cant be bad. Needless to say we all slept well, and one of us slept to well. McGill proclaimed it was the best night sleep he had had throughout the trip. I awoke during the night to go to the loo, and notice McG sound asleep, in the foetal position sucking his thumb as the train gently rocked him to and thro. In fact he slept that well that he was last off the train after being woken and asked to leave the carriage by the station master.
After an early morning search, we came upon our Tuk Tuk in the parcel compound, sitting there in all its might and glory. A little battered, and less things working that when we posted it, but there ready to go and transport us on to our next destination. Well ready, but not until 10am. After a number of protests, sulky faces and McG offering to sign all the paperwork and ledgers in his own blood, which the postal staff by now found hilarious, we managed to get the Tuk away an hour early, and set off at 9am.
