We enjoyed the night at KAKARBHITTA in the centre of town. Room basic, but food was delicious and staff friendly. Had our earliest start this morning, around 10 am, as we set off for Kathmandu. Lost about 2 houyrs getting our exhaust fixed. First repair lasted about 10 minutes, second repair was, as mechanic explained, temporary. Third repir job, one guy fixing and eight other guys watching. The mechanic removed our fuel containers from within the tuk, as he was about to do some welding on the exhaust - very health and safety concious. He then put on, wait for it, his sunglasses and proceeded to weld. Anyway, job done and exhaust still intact at time of writing.
P.S. Not appointing blame, but the DEANS was driving each time the exhaust broke!
